We had an appointment with Karen Duarte, PA at Advanced Dermatology Paramus for our entire family, with a $50 specialist copay per person. We arrived 15 minutes early and waited an additional 15 minutes past the scheduled time--yet somehow we were made to feel like the ones who were late. The experience was deeply unsettling. My husband and I both felt completely gaslit, and worst of all, our kids were made to feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. Our daughters had plantar warts after a summer of water park visits. They were understandably nervous about the treatment, but instead of showing empathy or patience, the provider displayed little to no bedside manner. Her demeanor was cold and dismissive--not what you'd expect from someone working with children. She spent maybe two minutes on my own exam, dismissing my concerns because I brought up both anti-aging and a body scan--apparently, you're not allowed more than one issue per visit? Even though it's been over a year since that appointment, the experience was so negative we still reference it as a textbook example of how not to treat patients. I might have let it go if it were just about me or my husband, but mistreating my daughters? That's a line. Please don't go here--there are plenty of kind, professional dermatologists in the area. I now see Dr. Tamar Zapolanski, who has been the complete opposite: caring, thorough, and respectful. Do yourself a favor and find someone who values their patients.

Never coming back to her , I think she lacks in bed side manners , she talks to fast when educating patients . She walked in and didn't introduce herself and didn't make eye contact with me. I told her about a very sensitive skin issue and she made a small smirky laugh when asking to see it . I think she needs more training on patient communication. The CMA was more personable and more responsive. Never going back to her to Karen Duarte, PA.
