I want to start by saying I rarely leave Google reviews, but I felt it was important to share my experience with MDCS in hopes of helping others make informed decisions regarding their medical care and well being. I was diagnosed with stage 1 melanoma at the beginning of March and was told that I would need to visit a surgeon to have it removed via a wide local excision. My dermatologist recommended Dr. Snehal Amin. I researched him and MDCS online and everything looked great initially. I had to wait a month and a half to get in for a surgical consultation with Dr. Amin so I assumed he must be highly in demand due to his limited availability. I went in for my appointment at the end of April and was unfortunately disappointed with the treatment I received. First, I felt rushed through the intake with the medical assistant. I had sent my pathology report and a pre-biopsy photo to the practice's email address (I was instructed to do this ahead of the appointment) but it was never forwarded to the medical staff. During my appointment they were pressing me to download an app and upload this information to their patient portal. Although this was not a major issue it did not set a great vibe for the remainder of the appointment. Upon meeting Dr. Amin, he seemed polite and professional, but his demeanor changed once he saw that I had a lot of tattoos. He proceeded to tell me that he hated tattoos and that they make it difficult for him to do his job. He then continued to explain that "they" have done studies on certain types of tattoo ink and how it can potentially cause cancer, however nothing had been conclusive, and that I should Google it. I honestly was shocked by his behavior and found his attitude to be condescending and inappropriate. These comments were completely unnecessary - I was there because I had skin cancer, not to get his opinion on my tattoos. While I understand tattoos can affect surgical planning, the interaction left me feeling uncomfortable and self-conscious during a vulnerable time when I was already anxious about having skin cancer removed. Between the diagnosis and Dr. Amin's comments, I did not have time to properly think things through, so I booked a surgery appointment with him while I was there (again I was going to have to wait another 3 weeks). After I got home and had time to fully process what had happened, I decided it was best for me to seek a second opinion. Thankfully I had a much better experience with the next doctor I visited which was a huge relief after what had transpired with Dr. Amin. Ultimately I decided to cancel my surgical appointment with Dr. Amin. Based on his credentials I am sure that he is a highly knowledgeable and skilled medical professional, but due to the way I was treated during my consultation I did not feel comfortable moving forward with him. I chose to have the surgery performed elsewhere and remain confident in that decision. I will not be returning to MDCS and truly hope that Dr. Amin can learn to treat his patients with more empathy and less judgement moving forward.

Had a great experience with Jasmine and Dr. Camp!! Excited to finally have found a good derm practice. The staff is very professional, timely, and friendly. I felt comfortable and what really stood out to me was the time Dr. Camp took to hear my concerns and break down solutions and practical steps to address the issue at hand. I felt so heard and really appreciated how thorough he was!
