Lava head spa was a disappointment both times I went. I purchased gift cards during their Black Friday sale for myself, my mom, and a friend for the holidays. After I went and had a poor experience, I emailed just asking for a refund for the third gift certificate that had not been used for my friend. I would never gift someone a bad experience. After reaching out the manager asked me to give them a second chance and she'd have her best employee (the manager of the salon) do my services as she was not willing to refund the unused gift card. She upgraded my services which I thought was nice and we scheduled the appointment. The day before said appointment, I didn't receive a confirmation email, so again, I reached out. To my surprise there was no appointment scheduled for me and her "best employee who was AMAZING" no longer worked there. So they scheduled me later in the day and I gave it another shot. Again, I left with the WORST haircut I have ever received in my entire life. I literally had to come home and cut my hair myself to fix it before getting it done professionally a couple weeks later. Lava was my first head spa experience so I didn't have anything to compare it to, and the head spa portion seemed fine to me. However, after going the second time the young girl who did my services mentioned that my scalp was way worse after leaving my first visit because the girl was new and had no idea what she was doing. She showed me my scalp before and after photos from my first session and my scalp was in fact very red and irritated from the stylist scrubbing my scalp so hard. So I guess the head spa wasn't fine after all. What really bothered me was the hair cut I received each visit. They charge $60 for a cut and $50 I believe for a blowout and the cut and blowout together took less tha 10 minutes in total. The first visit was especially fast and I left with wet hair in 30 Degree weather after waiting 20+ minutes for the stylist to find a comb. She didn't use a cape so I was covered in wet hair. All around very unprofessional. The second cut was horrific. For a blunt cut I would at least expect it to be straight. However, it was not. I reached out again to the owner to share my experience after the second service and provided pictures and I never heard a word back. Radio silence. I would highly recommend finding another head spa and if there isn't one locally, skip it altogether! I'd rather lose my money for the third gift card I purchased than go back for a third attempt. Below are photos of my haircut.

Had the most amazing experience at LAVA head spa! I did the timeless experience with Jennifer and she was awesome. My hair and scalp felt so good and my roots finally had some volume. I was so impressed with how my skin looked after the facial too. My skin was glowing for days. Jennifer was really helpful and gave me a bunch of advice for my scalp and skincare routine without making me feel like I had to desert everything I was doing. Highly recommend!! The spa itself is beautiful too
