I visited numerous dermatologists to correct a keloid but nothing worked. They all did their best and tried various injections, creams, etc. but the keloid just worsened. I began researching keloids and came to understand that keloids are unpredictable and often require slow, careful treatment to either get them under control or resolved completely. Because standard dermatologists do not work exclusively or intensively with keloids, they often do not know the best course of treatment which is why I sought a specialist, eventually deciding to see Dr. Tirgan. He patiently educated me about keloids and about the various treatment options. He dedicates his time to research for a cure and intimately understands the treatment options and limitations. Resolving my keloid has been a long process, (a little over a year) but, with Dr. Tirgan, the keloid slowly improved after each visit. I cannot recommend Dr. Tirgan enough. He is different than most doctors in that, while first and foremost being knowledgeable and competent, he is also patient and cares about the whole person and about getting things right.

I have had keloids on my face for about 7 years now. Prior to discovering Dr. Tirgan I have seen 5 different specialists ranging from plastic surgeons to dermatologists. The plastic surgeon who worsened my keloids suggested I get some radiation applied to the keloids so as to prevent the regrowth of keloid tissue. Dr. Tirgan uses a method known as Cryotherapy, an art which he has mastered and does it very well by treating very LARGE keloids on any part of the body, and also taking into consideration patients' level of pain tolerance on a case by case basis. Different parts of the body react in different ways when exposed to liquid nitrogen. He is able to achieve the desired result so everyone walks away with a smile :) Frostbites cause people to lose fingers when exposed to extreme cold temperatures. That's the idea being applied here. Extremely cold liquid nitrogen is applied to the keloid - it freezes - gets swollen - loosens about the next day and the disintegrated keloid tissue spills out over time. Quite time consuming but it does the job. Cycles of freeze & spill disintegrates the tissue piece by piece until it's no more. FOCUS - FOCUS - FOCUS That's exactly what I did and I am now a keloid-free person. Dr. Tirgan walks into the waiting room to call each patient by name, and treats you all by himself. While doing this he takes questions, makes recommendations, and is very calm and gentle. He is not all about the money. His main thing is to get the job done. Whether Insured or Self-paying you should not hesitate to schedule an appointment to meet him. I highly recommend him because dermatologists and plastic surgeons at large have failed to conduct extensive studies on this elusive skin disorder, so they surely cannot treat keloids better than him. I always speak passionately about this issue because having lived with it on my face for all these years I had to go through all the psychological ups & downs associated with it. I had a discussion about this with Dr. Tirgan as well, and he was very much available to listen and talk to me about it. If you are reading this you probably have some type of skin disorder or someone close to you does. If you need an honest friend to discuss your condition with then do not hesitate to contact Dr. Tirgan.
