Dr. Julie Vasile's practice is specialized only to women who need breast reconstruction. Her patients are women who want to restore their breasts using their own fat and who do not want implants in their body. Dr. Vasile only uses the microsurgical perforator flap technique to avoid removing muscle since 2008. In addition to using the abdominal fat, Dr. Vasile is an expert in using this technique to harvest fat from uncommonly used areas, such as the thighs, upper back, and buttock. She specializes in adding extra blood vessels and combining multiple areas to obtain more fat in thin women. Dr. Vasile's pioneering research in the above and other techniques is published in peer reviewed journals.

UPDATE: 9/4/25: I recently completed Phase 2 surgery with Dr. Vasile after my DIEP flap reconstruction, and once again the experience was flawless. She even saw me every day for a week after surgery to make sure I was healing well -- that level of dedication is rare. My recovery was smooth, results are excellent, and I had zero complications. Dr. Vasile is truly a pioneer in DIEP flap reconstruction, and I'm beyond grateful for her care. Dr. Vasile's assistant Sara has been wonderful as well!! Original: 1/20/2025: I cannot speak highly enough about Dr. Julie Vasile. I'm a 46 year old woman , diagnosed with Invasive lobular and ductal carcinoma . I was first diagnosed in 2020 and had a lumpectomy and several rounds of radiation. I had a reoccurrence in 2024 and the cancer came back viciously. My breast surgeon, Dr. Barbara Ward immediately recommended Julie . When I first met Julie, she spent a good 3 hours with my mother and I. She spent time getting to know is, my case and explaining in so much detail the DIEP flap procedure, recovery process. That was so impressive . Before surgery, Julie had me go for a ton of bloodwork, a scan of my blood vessels and even a psychological exam because this kind of surgery can take a toll. She is not only an extremely careful surgeon , she is the best. I had zero complications after my Diep flap surgery. Zero. She's the best and I would recommend her to anyone going through this process and trying to make a decision . Zero complications. Also, my father was Chief of Anesthesiology at Stamford Hospital for many years. Julie Vasile was highly recommended ( and respected) among his peers . We wouldn't have settled for anyone but the best.

Dr. Vasile is absolutely amazing! She is best surgeon and doctor!! She is not only incredible skilled, compassionate and informative, but also upfront about cost and time commitment. Upon meeting her she really took the time to hear my concerns. She is someone who really cares about her patients. I am a breast cancer survivor, and my implants were hurting and had become very toxic. She not only removed my implants and performed the flap procedure, but corrected and cleaned up the mess left behind by my previous surgeon. I have felt so much better since, and I owe this to her. I feel like me again! I can not recommend her enough. I have felt beyond grateful that I found her, and that she has given me my life back.
