I called earlier this week as a new and prospective patient after receiving a referral from my primary care physician. I called the main office to schedule, but was then directed to "billing" because the receptionist personally did not know if their office took my insurance. I explained I checked with my insurer website and was nonetheless told to call billing. Although I felt it was strange to essentially turn away a new patient and put the onus on me to make sure they can bill my insurance I still obliged. I called billing 2x, no response. Eventually I got a call back and although they were nice and sympathetic, asked me why I called them as they are billing and that the front office should be able to check themselves. She also did not know herself, and told me that she would need to speak to two other coworkers to confirm and that I could expect a call back. That was two days ago and I have received no call. Again I was confused as to why I needed to push to be seen and pay for my services when I can go elsewhere. I tried calling again 5/1, and at 1:30 the office was closed. I will not attempt to reach out any further, instead I found another dermatologist fairly quickly with amazing attentive staff and was able to book a new appointment as a new patient under five minutes. New patients- do not waste your time here.
