Dr. Desciak was referred to me by my dermatologist for my mom. She had a large black spot on her nostril which she neglected for years. Dr. Desciak removed ( pretty deep) sent to columbia and it came back Melanoma. His margins of how he did the removal was excellent, that he didn't have to go back in to scoop more out. My mom was very upset about the whole thing. Today we went back and were given 3 options to proceed. 1- Do nothing, and the crater will eventually fill, but will always have an indentation, 2- Skin graft from around her ear, and 3 - Flap. While the flap sounded the least appealing in my head esthetically, my moms nostril had started to collapse and she was not even able to use the sleep apnea machine. The Dr. recommended the flap as he will lift up the nostril. We agreed with his recommendation. It came out perfect, Honestly like a plastic surgeon. We are so greatful to Dr. Desciak and his amazing staff for the wonderfuel treatment and experience we had during this worrisome period. His kind and soft approach gave my mom a lot of confidence in him. He explained everything thoroughly. If i could give him a 10 Star review, I would.
