Dr. Kwan has earned a reputation that has other *doctors* traveling across states to see him ahead of all the other choices in PA/NJ/NY, and they have good reason/insight for doing so and continuing to recommend him. He's at the top of his field in experience and ingenuity, with countless procedures of much greater complexity than a lift or eyelid surgery under his belt, techniques of his own invention, and still active in academics and research. My experience is that he also has the additional artistic touch and deeply cares about his patients and his craft. He and his office staff will treat you like an old friend, and Dr. Kwan tailors your procedure to your individual desires, practical needs, and aesthetics. He will take his time to explain everything you want if you ask, but things can also go quick and easy because he knows what he's doing inside and out. Trust the advice of the guy who's already seen people through thousands of outcomes with great care- you will probably have moments of concern watching the healing process (like me) but if he tells you it's turning out fine- he knows.

I had a cosmetic double eyelid procedure done with Dr. Kwan in October 2023, and my experience has been nothing short of disappointing. I paid $5,000, expecting a professional, detail-oriented approach, but instead, I received rushed consultations, poor communication, and unsatisfactory results. Minimal Consultation & Rushed Process: Dr. Kwan barely spent any time discussing my preferences. The first online consultation was only 10 minutes, and on the day of the procedure, he spent just 5 minutes taping my eyelid before operating, the entire process felt rushed. Uneven & Unnatural Results: Post-surgery, my eyelid shape was completely different from what we had discussed--too wide and unnatural. Even worse, my left and right eyelids were asymmetrical, each with a different shape. Dismissive & Rushed Follow-Ups: I raised my concerns multiple times--at 1 month, 6 months, and 1 year post-op. Every single time, Dr. Kwan spent less than a minute with me, dismissed my concerns, and rushed out of the room. His response was always, "They are still swollen, they will become smaller." Now, after 1.5 years, when I revisited him again, he changed his response, saying it was "too late" to raise concerns and that I would have to pay for another procedure to fix the issues. Lack of Accountability & Unprofessionalism: Rather than addressing his mistakes, Dr. Kwan refuses to take responsibility and only offers a fix if I pay more money. He is not detail-oriented, does not listen to patients, and rushes through every interaction. I deeply regret choosing him for this procedure and would never recommend him to anyone considering eyelid surgery. Avoid Dr. Kwan if you care about quality, professionalism, and proper post-op care!
